Good size portions, nice atmosphere, and the chips are great with sandwiches.

Went today b/c I read all the previous reviews. I think most of those are from before they shut the main restaurant down. Had the corn beef, it was just okay, a bit dry and not much flavor. Went around 1:00 pm and no one in the place. It's a shame what they did to a great Chicago landmark. For a GREAT corn beef sandwhich go to Perry's Deli on Franklin.

Went there today Friday 05/25/07 and got one of their lunch specials: halibut sandwich. Initially, it came on a dry kaiser roll with a pickle and tartar sauce on the side. I asked for lettuce, and they obliged me. I was a little surprised, though, that the sandwich came with so little to it: kaiser roll and halibut. The accompanying house chips were not quite burnt, but rather brown and not very chewy, as my companions had touted they would be. I'll probably give it another chance as the halibut itself wasn't bad, but next time, I'll either specify exactly what I want on my halibut sandwich or try another sandwich.

It is more like Bergoff's Deli. Still the food is fresh and the salads are great.
